The fascination for complex creations of nature and their interaction are the focus of the sound installation SUPRA. The mysterious interrelationship of various natural phenomena leads to an individuality of a higher order through enigmatic communication, but without hierarchy. A tree is not just a supplier of wood or a provider of shade, it is part of an overwhelming eco-system.
Our earth: an interacting bioreactor, the human body: a born networker. Merging black holes, interacting chemicals, climatic networks or cross-modulating oscillators of a synthesiser: whenever closed structures entwine, fertilise and interact, synergies arise, a supraorganism is created.
Man interrupts, manipulates and even eliminates these interactions. They regulate and optimise from the point of view of efficiency, profitability and profit maximisation, without respecting the complex structures and interrelationships. Modern man arrogantly takes advantage of everything in the false assumption that he has to perfect an intrinsically balanced environment. The consequences are fatal. SUPRA is an auditory sculpture that uses the above examples as sound sources, artistically transforming them into a sound installation.
