ARS FATUM - art as destiny
Pale-thin translucent porcelain plates float in the exhibition space. The artist Maria Ondrej shows a filigree installation, supplemented by her works on paper, in her most recent work "Wortgefechte zwischen Himmel und Hölle". Vlado Ondrej presents a selection of his monumental relief prints. The deeply scored lines are given a unique effect on the paper by the etching process. The works are very small editions or unique.
The artist couple Maria Ondrej and Vlado Ondrej founded the "Atelier for Contemporary Etching Leipzig" in 2009, the now internationally known address, located on the factory premises of the former cotton mill. The "Spinnerei" in Leipzig is an important center of contemporary art.
Both artists studied at the art college "Burg Giebichenstein" in Halle.
Vlado Ondrej was then a master student of Professor Bernhard Heisig at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. After that, he taught over 20 years as Assistant and lecturer at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle (Saale) Etching.
"It is the >> language of etching << that allows us to express our ideas and artistic
Transfer concepts. In our work, this aesthetics plays the main role. These Exhibition presents the sound of transparent porcelain panels with the beauty of imprinted paint on paper "
